Community Service

Our new Food Insecurity Initiative

Tri-Chairs, Maybette Waldron, Gael Ficken, and Jacque Obrien with the assistance of Mary Lou McQuire have organized a new initiative to grow organic vegetables and donate to the food insecure in our neighboring communities.

The club will manage two gardens: Wakeman Town Farm on Cross Highway in Westport and at St Timothy's Church on Congress Street in Fairfield.

Planting will start after our May 15th Plant Sale and continue through the summer and into the fall.

Work is being done now to get supplies and materials ready.  The three pantries that will receive our bounty are St John's Community Center, Mercy Learning Center, and Operation Hope.
